With Communication Hut, Juan Herreros proposes to transform the four-way crossing of the Jangdong junction into a small but interesting and artistic park. Inspired by the images of Soshaewon and chimney of Hanok (traditional Korean house), he gives a focus to creating an open space where nature co-exists by adopting the natural contour of trees. The folly’s organically connected structure crossing between trees adds a visual pleasantness to the surroundings of the Asian Cultural Complex and this populated juncture. Communication Hut will present pedestrians with artistic inspiration during the day and light their various activities at night, serving as a lively hut where citizens can meet and converse.
